About Us
CDFI Friendly Bloomington is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to flexible and affordable financing for small businesses, housing developers, nonprofits, and child care providers by connecting individuals with mission-based lenders known as community development financial institutions (CDFIs).
We offer free technical assistance to prepare potential borrowers for the loan process and connections to CDFIs that can provide them with the financing they need to succeed.
Our Mission
To strengthen the communities in and around Bloomington and the Indiana Uplands, and to improve the economic conditions of lower income residents by assisting community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and other organizations in providing accessible, flexible financing for affordable housing, job growth and other community development projects.
Our Model
CDFI Friendly Bloomington can identify opportunities for CDFIs, provide technical assistance to potential borrowers, or provide gap financing or additional financing incentives to lenders. We have boots on the ground in our region and act as a connector between our partners seeking funding and CDFIs.
