CFB Capital is an enhancement fund owned and operated by CDFI Friendly Bloomington to help CDFIs manage risks. CFB Capital uses an Investment Committee to approve expenditures.
PURPOSE
In some cases, our coordination, marketing, and technical assistance will sufficiently facilitate CDFI investment in suitable community projects. In other cases, we will provide enhancement financing to support such projects, in the form of low-interest loans through CFB Capital – CDFI Friendly Bloomington’s financing pool – alongside participating CDFIs and/or other financing partners.
FUNDING SCENARIOS
There are three common situations in which CFB Capital may provide supplemental funding:
- A single CDFI is unable to fully fund a project
- A CDFI’s funding is contingent of CFB Capital also providing funding
- To make a project more attractive to CDFIs
